Please carefully read these instructions and prepare the article in accordance with the current requirements of the journal. Failure to comply with the formatting rules is grounds for rejection of the manuscript at the stage of initial editorial screening.

The Editorial Office accepts files created in Microsoft Word.

Recommended manuscript formatting: A4 page size; margins: 2 cm left and right, 2.5 cm top and bottom; main text font: Arial, 12 pt; line spacing: 1.5.

Recommended manuscript length: research articles – 5–20 pages; short communications may be shorter; review articles may be up to 40 pages. This includes all parts of the publication, in particular abstracts in two languages, Ukrainian and English, tables and figures, and the reference list.

Article Structure

A scientific manuscript must be structured, logically organized, and prepared in accordance with the journal’s requirements. The manuscript must include the following components:

Title page of the article;
Main body of the article;
Reference list;
Translation of the article title, author information, abstract, and keywords. For Ukrainian-language articles, these elements are provided in English; for English-language articles, they are provided in Ukrainian;
Acknowledgements and funding sources;

Requirements for Manuscript Components

Title Page of the Article

The title page must include:

  • UDC index;

  • Article title;

  • Author information.

Author information should include the surname and initials of each author; the affiliation where the work was performed, with the mandatory indication of the city and country. If there is more than one institution, each author must be linked to the corresponding institution using superscript letters a, b, c after the author’s surname and before the name of each institution. The email address of the corresponding author must also be provided.

  • Abstract

The abstract must be a concise, informative, and comprehensive summary of the article content and must not exceed 2,000 characters.

The abstract must not contain: information that is not included in the main text of the article; references to literature; excessive abbreviations or acronyms. If abbreviations are necessary, they must be explained.

  • Keywords

No more than six keywords should be provided. General expressions should be avoided. Complex grammatical constructions, plural forms, and abbreviations should not be used.

Main Body of the Article

The main body of the article must be organized according to the logic of scientific presentation.

For research articles, the following sections are mandatory:

  • Introduction

A brief justification of the chosen topic, relevance of the study, analysis of previous research, statement of the problem, and formulation of the aim of the work.

  • Materials and Methods

The Materials and Methods section must contain an accurate, consistent, and sufficiently detailed description of the conducted research, allowing other scientists to reproduce its results. Subheadings should be used to clearly present different stages of the work, methods, and procedures.

This section should provide a concise but sufficient description of the study design, research objects, experimental conditions, equipment, reagents, materials, and methods used. Ethical aspects of the study, particularly those related to the use of animals, as well as statistical analysis methods and software used, must also be specified. The description must be sufficient for evaluating the correctness of the methods, interpreting the results, and reproducing the study.

  • Results and Discussion

This section provides a systematic presentation and in-depth analysis of the obtained results, their interpretation, comparison with data from other studies, and scientific justification of the conclusions.

When preparing the text, authors should avoid duplicating all data presented in tables or figures. Instead, the text should summarize the most significant findings and serve as an analytical commentary. The obtained data must not only be described but also thoroughly analyzed by comparison with current data from the international literature, which allows proper justification of the scientific novelty, interpretation, and conclusions of the study.

For review articles, the structure of the main body is flexible and depends on the topic and the author’s presentation.

Requirements for Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be presented in the order in which they are mentioned in the text.

The text should not duplicate all data presented in tables; it is sufficient to refer to the relevant table.

Figures, photographs, graphs, diagrams, and drawings must be of appropriate quality. The figure caption must explain all elements and symbols. If figures are submitted as separate files, they may additionally be provided to the Editorial Office in a single ZIP archive.

For Ukrainian-language articles, all textual elements in tables and figures must be duplicated in English.

Abbreviations and specific acronyms in tables and figures are undesirable. If their use is necessary, they must be explained in the notes.

Language, Terminology, and Statistics Requirements

All units of measurement must be presented according to the SI system.

For living organisms, the Latin taxonomic name must be given in italics: at first mention – in full, for example, Staphylococcus aureus; in subsequent mentions – abbreviated, for example, S. aureus.

Numerical results may be presented as fold changes or percentages.

The significance of differences between indicators must be confirmed by statistical analysis with mandatory indication of the relevant parameters.

Reference

The reference list must be formatted alphabetically in Vancouver style.

All sources must be provided in English. If a source was published in Ukrainian or another language and does not have an official English-language version, the bibliographic description must be translated into English.

The reference list should include only:

  • published works;
  • materials accepted for publication;
  • sources cited in the text of the article.

In the text, references are cited by sequential numbers in square brackets, for example: [1].

At the end of the bibliographic description, it is recommended to provide the DOI, PubMed ID, ISBN for books, or an electronic link to the resource where the publication is available.
