INFLUENCE OF TRAINING ON OXIDATIVE STRESS MARKERS IN SPORTS HORSES OF HOLSTEIN BREED

The goal of our study was analysis of changes in oxidative stress markers and antioxidant defenses in the blood of sport horses of Holstein breed in the rest and after training. There were no significantchanges in the thiobarbituric acid reactive substrates (TBARS) content in blood and plasmaafter the training. A significantdecrease inlipid peroxidationin erythrocytes was occurred.Ketonederivativesof oxidatively modifiedproteins were significantly increased only in the red blood cells after the training. Therewere no significantchangesin the values ofthe aldehydeand ketonederivatives of protein oxidation in the plasma after training. An antioxidant defense in the blood of horses after the training was provided by the activation of superoxide dismutase. Correlation analysis of the relationship between markers of oxidative stress and antioxidant defense system confirmed the important role of superoxide dismutase and catalase for prevention development oxidative stress during exercise.
